Charles Richard Blankenship Sr.

Charles Richard Blankenship Sr, 87, was called home to the Lord above on March 30, 2026. 

He was born and raised in Hopewell, VA, to the late Charles Moses Blankenship and Minnie Maud (Burch) Blankenship. He is also preceded in death by his Brother, Jerry Hudson Blankenship, Sisters, Elizabeth Putney, O'Neil Hudson, Vivian Reynolds, Emma Woodle, Ella Ramsey, and Ruth Meadows. He is also preceded in death by his son Charles Richard (Ricky) Blankenship Jr, and his daughter Lori Ann Hornsby. 

Charles resided in Boynton Beach, Florida, with his wife Joyce, her daughter Tina, and their fur baby Lilly. Charles joined the Air Force, where he completed his GED while serving our Country. Thereafter, he served as a Police Officer and a Security Guard until his retirement. His faith in God was joined by Pastor Debra at Lakeside United Methodist Church. 

He enjoyed sitting in his chair outside in the mornings, drinking his coffee in the beautiful, warm sunshine, smelling the salty air and fresh cut grass, and feeding his pet squirrels. Charles is survived by his daughter, Sharri Tarazon (Jesse) of Beckley, WV, and son, Barri Wayne Blankenship (Becky) of Fayetteville, WV. He was also survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Joyce Blankenship, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeside United Methodist Church at a later date.
