Reyd Dyer, 78, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away on December 16, 2025.

He was born in The Bronx, NY in 1947 to Norma and Walter Dyer. After attending William Howard Taft High School, Reyd joined the Marine Corp in 1966 and served 13 months in the infantry with Kilo 3/7 Company on the front line of the Vietnam War from 1967-1968. He achieved the rank of Corporal and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze stars, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Following his return from Vietnam and his honourable discharge from the Marines, Reyd went on to work for Coca Cola Bottling Company of New York for 30 years as a refrigeration mechanic. As a resident of Milford, Connecticut for nearly 50 years, he was a keen boater and fisherman, and could be found most summer weekends out on the Long Island Sound fishing with family and friends. Reyd was also an avid scuba diver, tennis player and world traveller. He was incredibly adventurous and found true reverence in nature and the outdoors.

He is survived by his daughter Jacqueline Sindall, son-in-law Oliver Sindall, and grandchildren Jasmine and Lucas, of Surrey, United Kingdom.

Grandad Reyd, as he was so lovingly known, made regular visits to the UK to be with his family and play with his grandkids. Although living an ocean away, he was a deeply devoted grandfather and spent many Christmases and summers visiting. He played an incredible role in the lives of his family and will be so deeply missed.

He is also survived by his sisters Jackie Rissotto and Linda Ciocci, their spouses, George Rissotto and Ralph Ciocci, as well as his niece and nephews Lindsey, Greg and Chadwick Ciocci, and their families.

In 2023, Reyd relocated to Florida and settled in West Palm Beach, fulfilling a life-long dream to live in the sunshine year-round. He made the most of his time in Florida, taking daily walks on the beach, fishing the Gulf Stream and becoming an active member of the Palm Beach Sailing Club, Flotilla Club and Freedom Boat Club. He also studied Buddhism at the Palm Beach Dharma Center.

Reyd forged many incredible friendships through these communities, and his kindness, generosity and support for those around him was deeply felt by all.
